Research interests and main scientific achievements
For the first time, a method for differential diagnosis of variola viruses, monkey pox, cow pox and chicken pox virus has been developed based on real-time multiplex PCR has been developed.
A vaccine and production strain of vaccine smallpox VAC∆6 was obtained and certified, which has higher immunogenicity and protective properties and reduced reactogenicity compared to the parent vaccine strain LIVP.
He took an active part in the study of oncolytic viruses and the creation of DNA constructs encoding the multiple epitopes of tumor antigens.
Between 2016 and 2018 under the direct supervision of R.A. Maksyutov clinical trials of vaccine against Ebola fever were successfully carried out and EpiVacEbola vaccine was registered.
Under the supervision of R.A. Maksyutov the studies on the epidemiology of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the Russian Federation and severe cases of seasonal influenza in humans are being conducted.
