Research Experience

Since 1990 working in the field of Pathogenesis of Enteroviruses focus on coxsackieviruses:

  • Experimental, in vitro and in vivo studies murine oral model of coxsackie virus infection
  • Co-ordination of the of the research at the Enterovirus unit
  • Involved in the Enterovirus National Reference Laboratory — work mainly on the introduction of modern methodology.
  • Involved in the postgraduate teaching program of Slovak Medical University — teaching Tissue culture and Diagnosis of viral infections, Virology and Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovak Republic

Research topics

  • Animal model studies, Enteroviruses, Coxsackieviruses, Infections during pregnancy, role of enteroviruses in chronic diseases — Type 1 Diabetes, Myocarditis, antiviral agents
