Historical and geographical data of the circulation of various genotypes of the rubella virus were presented. The tendency to reduce the genetic diversity of the virus in the world as a result of the rubella elimination programs have been shown.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В обзоре представлен анализ генетического разнообразия вируса краснухи. Представлены исторические и географические сведения о циркуляции штаммов разных генотипов краснухи.
