Whole genome sequence insight confirmed the presence of chromosomally-encoded <italic>bla2 </italic>gene encoding enzyme that hydrolyze carbapenems, penicillin and cephalosporins. <italic>B. cereus</italic> encoding <italic>bla2</italic> gene may be an emerging pathogen in the yearly incidence of acute childhood gastroenteritis in Nigeria.</p> <p><bold>Discussion.</bold> We herein report and implicate <italic>B. cereus</italic> harboring <italic>bla2</italic> gene capable of hydrolyzing cephalosporins, and carbapenems as an emerging threat in acute childhood gastroenteritis in Nigeria</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Введение.</bold> В развивающихся странах ежегодные вспышки острого гастроэнтерита приводят к высоким показателям заболеваемости и смертности среди детей в возрасте до 5 лет.</p> <p><bold>Цель</bold> — представить полную последовательность генома <italic>Bacillus cereus</italic> BUKA, связанного с острым гастроэнтеритом у детей.</p> <p><bold>Материалы и методы.</bold> Образец был выделен из жидкого стула ребёнка с диагнозом «острый детский гастроэнтерит» из больницы третьего уровня в Нигерии.</p> <p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Анализ антибиотикорезистентности изолята выявил резистентность к 79% (11/14) испытанных антибиотиков, включая имипенем, пенициллин, цефепим, цефтриаксон, что свидетельствует о высокой способности продуцировать бета-лактамазы расширенного спектра действия, карбапенемазы и цефалоспориназы.
